WHAT IS FITNESS?
What is fitness, and what does it eat with? Most likely, it will not be possible to give a definite answer to this question, because everyone understands it in their own way, but we will risk it. For some, fitness is a pleasure, for others it is a healthy lifestyle, and for some, fitness is a regular profession, for some it is a sport.
What do all want and expect from him? Well, first of all, probably, health, the acquisition of a athletic figure, well-being, joy and other pleasant moments. In addition, it has long been believed that fitness is simply fashionable. You can do it wherever you want: in a solid fitness club; in a small room located next door; at home according to the program described in a glossy magazine or broadcast on television. Exercising, cycling in the summer, running, skiing in winter – all this, in fact, can also be called fitness, but there is one thing …
In general, the word “fitness” comes from the English expression “to be fit”, which means “to be in shape”. A whole system is embedded in this expression, and not just ordinary physical education classes. That is, Fitness is not only sports exercises, but also culture, routine, nutrition, outlook on life, attitude towards oneself and others.
Let’s look at those definitions of the word “fitness” that the Internet offers us. For example, fitness is a way of conducting an active lifestyle, which combines both sports and proper nutrition, which as a result gives us a great mood, good health and good health.
Let’s talk about the history of fitness, that is, when it appeared and how it developed. People very early realized that they needed fitness in order to survive, which is why its development can be traced back to ancient times. Even the most primitive inhabitants of the Earth needed it, because they could go hunting and spend several days in search of food, but how can this be done when the physical form is, so to speak, lame? Of course, of course, ancient people were engaged in fitness completely unconsciously – they ran a lot, jumped, crouched, bent down, in general, performed a bunch of physical exercises, but life and situation forced them to do this. Later, with the development of agriculture, a person had many different tools, including animals, which helped him in his work – made it easier. That is, the lifestyle became immediately less active, but still the load was on, and people still had to work, so they still had not to think about additional exercises, they were healthy anyway.
Fitness continued its development in ancient civilizations. People then associated physical activity with well-being, that is, those who worked hard worked well. In China, we have gone even further – whoever works does not get sick. They were right. Today, we can also see that physical exercise saves us from almost all diseases.
At the same time, somewhere in India, the teaching of yoga is in full swing. However, to this day it remains very popular among the modern inhabitants of our planet. Even then, yoga was very welcome. The thing is that all classes acquired, so to speak, a spiritual emphasis and, naturally, were based on the beliefs of Buddhism and Judaism. Years passed, the teaching developed, and its relevance gained momentum. And at a certain moment, the yoga teaching was associated with physical exercises, and more or less familiar fitness was born to us. That is, spiritual forces associated with the material capabilities of man.
Fitness gained enormous development when the states needed the army of the military. Bright examples are the Persian Empire, Sparta, etc. Moreover, not only men had to have a good physical and spiritual form in order to fight, but also women to bring healthy offspring.
We paid considerable attention to physical development in Greece. It was there that having good health and good physical shape was no less important than having excellent knowledge. During this period, music and gymnastics begin their history. For the ancients, this idea was completely new – doing physical exercises with pleasant music, so that this combination would contribute to the harmonious development of the body. Fitness has become even more developed.
Years passed, fitness then rose (Age of Objection), then forgot about it. Its revival took place in the 18th century, and it was carried out in Germany by Frederick Jan. It was he who noted that the lack of physical health among the citizens of the country is a defeat in the event of an enemy invasion of this country.
They thoroughly embarked on its development in the 20th century and continue to this day, releasing ever new teachings and programs.
