It is believed that the game of golf appeared in Scotland and was invented by shepherds, who, with the help of staves, which later became clubs, pounded stones in rabbit holes in order to entertain themselves during the monotonous work. It is believed that the game of golf already existed in the XIV century, and a hundred years later several laws were passed in Scotland that prohibited the game of golf. Baseball is not the invention of any one person, as many Americans believe, at the heart of this sport is a whole series of ball and bat games that previously existed in Europe.
In Russia in the old days there was a common version of baseball, it was called bast, the roots of this game go back to the distant XIV century. Two teams played in bast shoes, which included 5-10 people each, there was a serving and a beating player. The ball was thrown to the player, he had to hit him with a short stick and run across to the opposite side of the court so as not to be a “buried” ball.
